Being the youngest of 9 gets pretty hard.
There's the pressure not to make the same mistakes your 8 older siblings made.
The pressure to be better.
The pressure to be the best of the best...
But coming from a Hmong family with parents that are traditional...
My personal life gets very messing.
Who I date, when I date..
=___= It gets complicated..

Let me tell you it is hard being the oldest also. Always being told to watch the youngster, never any time to your self. I started watching out for my sister and brother when I was 10. It seemed to never let up until I left and got married.

Yeah I understand that is how it is for the oldest too...

I'm sure it feels like that now but be thankful you have such a large family with lots of people to look out for you and care about what you're doing. It's a pain at times but definitely an asset in the long run.

Yea I'm the youngest as well. I use to always feel that my parents wanted me to be like my older sister. And to this day we are still total opposites.

I am third of seven. i don't remember being pressured by my folks to be like my older siblings and since we lived out on a farm, we all watched out for each other. The youngest were always with us.

My parents had 5 surviving children. Of them all I'm the youngest. I was spoiled.. there is a 11, 13 and 15 year difference between my siblings and I. My oldest sister though moved out and got married young... she says all the time that my Mom relied on her to much...my oldest daughter feels the same way. All 3 of my siblings whom I knew were very very different individuals. My parents never expected me to do better than them... just make the right choices and do the best I could. I was blessed in that way.

Being the oldest, I have to agree with vickysue. The oldest has it's downfall too, babysitting your younger siblings, paving the way for them by fighting for rights to dating, driving, staying out late, always on the phone, wanting all the new styles of clothing, wanting privacy, etc. I made it easier for my siblings because my parents went through it with me.

When you are old enough to live on your own and support yourself you will probably experience more freedom to make choices that are good for you instead of trying to please your family members. That sense of freedom is priceless.

I am the youngest of 6 and I always loved it. Yes, there's pressure, but overall I have always loved it.

I was the oldest of five girls. Let me say that my parents must have gotten worn down by the time my youngest sister grew up because they sure wasn't nearly as strict on the younger ones than they were on me. I was the one who had to set the example. I was the one who had to take care of my younger sisters. Needless-to-say, I left home as soon as I graduated.

Oh yes. All my older siblings tell me how good I have it, and how they have stopped being strict. LOL That i appreciate a little.

You're saying it's hard being the youngest, someone said it's not easy being the oldest, now let me tell you why it sucks being the middle child!! lol The middle child you can't mess up like your older sibling and you either have to do the same or better than them and then you also have to set a great example for the younger sibling. The middle child also does not get as much attention as their other siblings. -_- lol I've gotten used to it, but it still sucks!!!
