Title: Air Fryer
Post by: gwilson31 on December 28, 2019, 01:55:44 pm
My son gave me an air fryer for Christmas.  I can't wait to try it out.  It looks like you can cook just about anything in there.

Oh, that was so thoughtful of your son! I have been intrigued by air fryers! Part of me wonders if it would just be hype and I'd never use it after the first time. The other part of me wonders if I wouldn't use it constantly like I do my instant pot. I guess I'll never know if I don't purchase one myself. Enjoy!  :peace:

We bought one because everyone ranted and raved about them, weve tried it 3 times, now it sits on the front porch. In order to get things crunchy on the outside, the inside is dried out like leather. Hope you have better luck with yours!

Oh I want an air fryer too.  I love fried food, (yes, i'm southern, lol).  Not only would you save fat and calories but the expense of the oil itself.  I got a mini instant pot from amazon on sale at a good price a couple of months ago but I'm afraid to use it.   :turkey:

This is the first comment on this product I believe!  Thank You for being so honest, I wish we could try it out for awhile before we commit to purchase!

I know several people who have an air fryer and they absolutely love it.  They cook all types of foods in it and it is delicious.  Maybe it is how you are using it?  Most people say they are great little appliances.

Hope you enjoy your new Christmas gift! I have been looking at air fryers for some time, but space is an issue and still not sure if We would get alot of use out of it. Let us know how you like it. That always helps me knowing if others have alot of success with new appliances.

My daughter tried her Air Fryer and I was blow away with the taste of the chicken wings.  It was really good.  I have one but have not tried it, but I will.

I was so tempted by those commercials but you never know if it's legit. I have tried enough kitchen gadgets that I only use a couple times. There should be a service where you rent some kitchen gadget for a month and then send it along to somebody else.

We have had one for about a year and use it at least once every day (or more). I love it for a quick lunch (like chicken nuggets) or those hash brown patties or even toast that comes out perfect every time. I stick in a slice and tell Alexa to set timer for 175 seconds to get it just right.

I like mine.  I use it quite a bit but, I also have a Nuwave oven and the air fryer is kind of a duplicate thing.  The air fryer does heat up to a higher temp, though, so sometimes I use that instead.

I purchased one in May of last year.  If does a lot of things when you want to do something different and the healthy way of cooking.  That is so nice of your son to purchase you an Air Fryer.

that's great.  I thought I would like to have one.  Several years ago I finally got a bread maker.  Used it about 5 times.  Now I dust it.  I think that might be the case with anymore kitchen gadgets that I might get.  Good luck and enjoy.  Let us know how simple it is.  LOL

What a awesome gift.  It's something I want to get for myself since I love eating fried chicken and french fries regularly and it's healthier when made in a air fryer.

I bought my husband an air fryer last Christmas.  He loves it and uses it quite often.  I found an apple fritter recipe the other day.  He made some and there were terrific!

Yes, there are plenty of things to air fry and we love using ours for meats and potatoes and deserts.

I think that's a really cool gift and that you are lucky your son gave you one. I hope you post again about how it works - whether the food turns out crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside or whether you have the same experience as the person who posted getting a bad result from the device.

That was such a nice and thoughtful gift.  My sister-in-law didn't care for hers but I saw tons of responses on facebook to her post saying people liked theirs a lot. Same with Instapot so you just have to see for yourself.

I been wanting to get one of those. I have been using oil to deep fry my stuff but the air fryer is supposed to be more healthy for you to use. Let us know how you like using it :)

Of course it is more healthy. It does not use the oil.  I know people who cook everything you could think of in them.

We have had one for several years. We don't use it regularly, but we do use it. Mostly for french fries and tater tots... They are much more healthy than it an oil deep fryer. We haven't branched out to a lot of the other recipes, but we may in the future.

We got one for Christmas.  Today was the first time out of the box.  It is a Ninja Foodie so it is big enough for a family of four.  It is rectangular instead of the round style and it flips up out of the way when it's not in use.  I look forward to quick easy meals.  The recipe book included has some good looking items to try.

I don't have one.  My brother makes 5 pounds of potatoes a week in his and love it.   That's a lot of spuds.  My sister just purchased one also so I want to see what she prepares.

I was given one by my son last year for Christmas. First I tried pork chops and followed the directions to a "T". Dried out. Then I tried wings. They were fantastic. Hubby went out and bought about 9 containers of wings (a dozen in each and all different flavors) 'cuz he loves them and said they were fantastic in the air fryer. Moist and tender.  I also tried burgers but they were dried, too. French fries were good. I have no counter space (only 2 feet on either side of the cooktop) so mine sits in its box on the floor until I want to use it and some days I'm too weak to even pick it up to put it on the counter.  Six months ago, I bought an Instant Pot. That, too, sits on the floor in its box because I keep forgetting to wash it prior to using it...I'm also a little afraid that I'll do something and it will blow its top.

We have one and it is great.  You can cook fries and they are not greasy.  I cook my grandson's corn dogs and he loves them.  I have also cooked mozzarella sticks in it.
