Title: The caravan is coming
Post by: dreamyxo on October 23, 2018, 08:50:39 am
Over 7,000-strong, the migrant caravan headed for the US pushes on

Thousands of Central American migrants resumed an arduous trek toward the U.S. border Monday, with many bristling at suggestions there could be terrorists among them and saying the caravan is being used for political ends by U.S. President Donald Trump.

The caravan's numbers have continued to grow as they walk and hitch rides through hot and humid weather, and the United Nations estimated that it currently comprises some 7,200 people, "many of whom intend to continue the march north."

However, they were still at least 1,140 miles (1,830 kilometers) from the nearest border crossing — McAllen, Texas — and the length of their journey could more than double if they go to Tijuana-San Diego, the destination of another caravan earlier this year. That one shrank significantly as it moved through Mexico, and only a tiny fraction — about 200 of the 1,200 in the group — reached the California border.

The same could well happen this time around as some turn back, splinter off on their own or decide to take their chances on asylum in Mexico — as 1,128 have done so far, according to the country's Interior Department.

They really have the audacity to think they can come busting up in someone else's country and demand anything.  We have homeless Americans,  without jobs, or enough food.  How the heck do they think they are going to get jobs and housing when we can't provide for our own?

President Trump should ban all entry of aliens and close the border. The government did this during 9-11. They can do it again.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the logic behind allowing those who do make it across the border and into "sanctuary cities" to vote in local elections.

They said yesterday that quite a few dropped out because they were tired and some said it wasn't worth it so they were going back to their country. I think they said around 1500-3000 dropped out. Trump is now putting 800 troops on the border. Kirsten Nielsen interviewed with Martha McCallum yesterday. Spent a whole hour on the border and talking to some CBP.

Today I heard Mexico is offering ID's jobs, and education to the children in the caravan, hoping it would stop them from continuing. There aren't that many "children" in the group. They're all between 18-27.

Already, another caravan is being recruited in Guatemala. Whoever is doing this certainly hates the U.S.

Well, hold onto your hat! They said yesterday that there are 4 more caravans starting to congregate and move towards the U.S. I saw video of the first one throwing rocks at the Mexican Federales and breaking through their wall. I guess we can expect that to happen when they get to our border. They did it before a few years back and killed a CBP. This is why Trump is sending military to the border now.  This caravan is now down to around 3,000-4,000.

I don't know why these people think they can just walk into another country without the legal process. Some were interviewed and all they want is to make money. Mexico offered them jobs, shelter, medical care, and education and they refused. The u.N. offered resettlement but they refused that, too. Evidently, there aren't many women and children. Most are young males between 17-30.  These ambulance chasers say our Constitution affords them "due process."  BULL! Our Constitution is made for the citizens of the U.S. I looked up the rules and laws for Refugee and/or Asylum processes and if they don't have the correct documents/documentation and proof, they aren't supposed to be deported immediately.  The last DHS changed the regulations. Other departments like the DOJ and DHHS were also weak and changed the rules.   This is why things are such a mess. These caravans have no RIGHT to be here without the proof and documents. Maybe 25 people out of 1000 would be deemed true asylum/refugee status. The rest are criminally rejected.  I hope this administration can stop the insanity and start following the laws made, not just pick and choose which ones to follow or ignore like the last one.

Sorry to vent. It just aggravates me so much that other countries don't allow this crap but this country's anti-American lawyers and :immigration rights groups" think illegals are citizens of our country. They think these illegals have more rights than those people trying to come here legally and who wait for years to enter.
