I'm hoping to get a good snow.  I live in an area where snow is a rarity so I would love to see just one good one.
If you want it bad enough, check this https://shipsnowyo.com/

I am 73 going on 74, there are days when i feel older when my back is acting up. But i volunteer every week at a charity in town where we give out monthly allotments of food and clothing, also household items, Love it.   Here lately i have been doing 2 days (that is all we are open) I would love to be working but just can't handle 5 days a week or 8 hours a day.  4 is my limit. But i do so love giving back to the community.  And it keeps me  feeling younger. Those that come in are so grateful we are open 2 days a week and they have some help.

wow you sound like a very nice person... I hope you have grand kids to spoil as well , and i think the world needs more people like you!!

They won't stop till you stop it. Yelling at you is the first thing that needs to stop. How rude   >:( and calling him a baby is a insult to a baby.  Sounds like a jerk would be a better name. The more you do the more they want.  I have done it and (my jerk) went so far as to get mad that I was spending to much time taking care of my mother with cancer,  because I was gone to chemo treatments. I built that monster by doing and doing and doing for him, I had only myself to blame. So my mom is gone and so is the jerk!! Never again, it's my turn or nothing!

Off-Topic / Re: Has Anybody Tried the "My Pillow"?
« on: February 03, 2017, 11:24:00 am »Message ID: 1120928
I keep seeing the TV advertisement for this product "My Pillow."  Over and over this guy is on my TV at a certain time everyday.  Kind of sick of him.  I can't imagine how great a pillow can get although I know I'm partial to my two right now. I have trouble sleeping without a good pillow.  How about you?  Have you tried "My Pillow?"  If so, what's so great about it?

hahahahahhaha..........  I hate that commercial so much, and I live I Minnesota where that guy comes from and where them pillows are made.  All my friends crack up when that airs and I'm around because I go on a roll about that stupid info -mercial  how in the Sam Hill can you have a half - hour commercial about a PILLOW,  it only does one thing !!!!!! You put it under your head and go to sleep  END OF STORY !!  And the guy can't talk right he says you can  WORSH it in your Worshing  machine.  My Mom tried them and said they were a marshmallow pillow, the kind that your head bounces back on. My mother, rest her soul was a pillow freak and took her own pillows with when we traveled, she taught me that you spend allot of time in bed and it should be the best you can afford.  I love down pillows, good sheets, and a good pillow top mattress, and soft jammies. And a great dog to keep my feet warm.

That's what I was saying... to have money to burn, I'd be to busy having fun, not eating Bon Bons in the closet. She has to have something going on that makes her want to chow down on pound cake rather than sitting on the beach on her own island watching the sun set as her staff makes her a healthy meal.  They say unhappy people eat to forget. I know I did when my mom died and went from really skinny size 3  to lard *bleep* size 16 and top it off quit smoking and more fat.  But If i had her money i'd pay some one to take my cookies and run.  And I'd no way be eating them frozen meals.

I left work on vacation Sept 1, 2000 and never went back.

That sounds like a grand way of doing it!! I crashed on the Ice and have been on a break for months and am starting my own small business from my home. And loving it... always on vacation when you're doing something you love!

When you go to the store and because there is snow ... you have to walk like a duck!!! And any one older and a little over weight knows just what I mean..... and also when one pants leg is stuck in your boot part way and the other is not and you just smile and say oh well!  I remember as a kid seeing people like this and thinking (What a knuckle head)  well now I'm the knuckle head and i get a giggle going!   :silly: :silly: :silly:  That's when you know your getting old you are 100% cool with yourself.

« on: February 02, 2017, 10:04:31 am »Message ID: 1120652
Never got into the beanie babies but my mother and I collected Boyds Bears, they were better for us to use around our houses (bears sitting on stuff)  where the beanie babies just wouldn't have worked as well. We collected them for years.  My mom was a head start director and loved children more than life. When she died I took all of our bears and boxed them up and delivered them to different law enforcement and fire depts.  To give out to children having a ruff day, the bears needed to be hugged. And I know my mom would have liked that....

Off-Topic / Re: Helping People or Discriminating against People

As we all know these are failed states that have no way of vetting the people in their countries so we have to be careful who comes from those countries. Lets be real do you let everyone in your house without asking who they are? I hope not.

Well said.

A friend of mine posted on Facebook yesterday: "I lock my doors at night not because I hate the people outside but because I love the people inside." We as a country need to take care of our own. It's not that we are not compassionate about other people from other countries, we just need to make sure ALL our citizens are taken care of before helping those in other countries.

Wonderful... very well said !!!  thank you very very much!!!!  Love what your friend posted that rocks big time!!!

Thursdays are my shopping days all the stores in the town i live give  5% to 10% off for people over 55. Town is really small pop. 2800  and the town is rocking with the gray hairs today me included, it's insane in the summers as all the snow birds return from the south. I live 3 miles from the town they say the movies Grumpy Old men was filmed (Wasn't)  I'm so lucky to live right on the Mississippi River the view is second to non and the eagles play in my front yard.  Only bad part is the people come to take pictures of the birds and drive my poor dog nuts as they walk threw my yard and turn around in my drive way. Last year i figured the greatest trick,  i had a old garden hose with holes in my shed and i put it out on my drive way.  WORKED   no one turns around in the drive because they don't want to run over my hose hahahahahah  All my friends know so we all just drive on it.  Tuff in the winter they might figure me out!   :silly: :silly:

I've cashed out 30$ plus every month since i started in  2016 and you can see my tally on the ad below, I can't remember how I found this site. I belong to  7 panels and cash out 150$  to 225$ every month in cash or amazon cards. Last year I ordered 9 times from amazon orders of 50$ to get the free freight, all from doing surveys. My amazon cards are 50% for my dog and I order most of  her food from amazon and i make 80% of her snacks. I got hurt and have been home bound and this is now my life line. Funds are tight not working and i'm trying not to drain my savings. At first I hated this... Now i'm up in the middle of the night checking for surveys... And will never stop doing them  (love it )
