Debate & Discuss / Re: Bowling

I've tried bowling. I'm not very good at it. My mother was on a bowling league for as long as I could remember, though.

I watched the first and second seasons. The second (ASYLUM) was my favorite. I couldn't get interested in the others.

Jessica Lange is coming back.

I rarely get that far in before I'm disqualified. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Milk! Though it's probably healthier with water.

The same for me! As for foods you didn't try until you were older... cauliflower, broccoli and lemon squares. My sister-in-law has been making the latter for decades, and it wasn't until I was in my 30s that I actually ate one. Now I know why my older sisters always fought over who got the last one!  8)

Off-Topic / Re: Generic vs. Name Brands
« on: August 16, 2018, 02:05:13 pm »Message ID: 1233058
For me, there are some foods, no matter what they are, that I have to buy name brand, such as sodas, certain salad dressings, mayo and snacks. Is there anyone else out there who have to spend an extra dollar and get name brand?

Oh, yes. Peanut butter, ketchup, some salad dressings (like you said) and definitely sodas. On the other hand, there's a few store-brand items that I actually prefer to name brand ones. Kroger's brownie mix is still my go-to choice.

No! I hadn't heard this before -- was busy doing housework and hadn't turned on the TV. Very sad to hear that.

I love Jet's Cheddar Jalapeno dipping sauce. I like ranch, and honey mustard sauce, in general.

Is anyone else watching this? It's a limited series on HBO. A murder mystery and psychological thriller. I got into enough to order the novel it's based on, and the author's other book Dark Places. I got Gone Girl out of the library.

Right-handed. I always wanted to be ambidextrous.

As long as the kids aren't around when they're doing it, I see no problem. It's legal here  :rose:

Yeah.

If the legal trend continues, marijuana will be legal almost nation-wide. Thing is, people will have to be taught that it's not safe for kids just because it comes in candy or baked goods. It's like any other drug: what an adult body can handle, a child's cannot. And just because it's natural doesn't mean it's automatically safe. You can get high from with the right amount of nutmeg, but it could kill you.

Shrug. It's her opinion, it wasn't inciting violence toward him. People have always been glad when people they thought vile or hated died. ISTM I heard the talk of him molesting his daughters before, too, but I can't recall where.

Usually the next day. Sometimes a day after that, depending (pizza, burgers/hot dogs are generally the foods this happens with).
