The best fair food I ever had was a pork chop on a stick..... Only can get it once a year and i look forward to it every year along with of course some corn on the cob with butter salt and pepper!

What's the pork chop on a stick like?  We have the foot long corndogs and bbq beef sandwiches.

A lot of State fairs are open now.  We had our parade this morning and enjoyed all the floats, bands, and candy!  Been thinking about the fair and all the wonderful things they serve there.  So many deep fried concoctions!  Does anyone look forward to having an 'elephant ear'?  Deep fried califlower?  Doughnut sundaes?  What is your favorite fair food?
My favorite food at the fair is those battered deep fried onions that look like flowers. I wonder how you cut the onions so that they look like flowers?

In high school, one of my friends' parents owned a concession business... In the hopes of getting into the state fair as a vendor (in MN, I guess there is a lot of competition to get a spot to open a booth, so it encourages the vendors to create something novel in order to be allowed in), they wanted to try deep fried candy bars. My friend invited me to help them decided the best flavors for the chocolate bars as well as for the fry-batter, so I got to sample many different types of these concoctions. My favorite was a Snickers bar deep fried in a chocolate mini-doughnut batter. Unfortunately my friend's parent's vending business' bid was outdone by another vendor that introduced the deep fried candy bar on a stick (yes, "on a stick" seems to also be a crowd pleaser for the state fairs).

Funnel cake would be my favorite, and I love it but I haven't had one in a very long time.

I usually don't like fair food but sometimes they have food that I'm curious about because I've never had it before.  :dontknow:

It has been years since I have been to the fair both due to mobility problems and financial.  Our fair will come in November and I would love to be able to go.  I can't even remember some of the food but I'm sure there is little of it that I don't or wouldn't like lol.

I attended the Warrens, WI Cranberry festival yesterday to get my last "fair food" of the year! I got a turtle apple, haystack onions & a corn dog. Tomorrow I will go back for the parade and have a fry bread taco (maybe another turtle apple!) Yum!

Funnel cake is on the top of my list.  I also occasionally enjoy some cotton candy.
