ICE
« on: May 14, 2015, 08:52:48 am »
Recently we met a family who's needed some help. they are being forced to stay in a motel because the owner up and decided it was not his signature on the receipt that showed they payed for their rent.. long story short they pretty much had to either give up their  animals to the pound or find a place for them..Well they found a place for the horse easily and the dog not so easily because they wanted someone they could trust and that's were we came in.. We took in their dog (ice) and this is her story...

The family found her in a storage unit really skinny and half dead.. upon taking her to the vet they were told she had 1000's of bb's inside of her..I guess they put two and two together and realized someone might have used her for target practice.. or just down right abused her for no reason at all.. Long story short the family took her in and nursed her back to good health and today she is a very happy healthy loving dog.. She is still scared of people and sounds.. but do you blame her?

It breaks my heart and fuels my rage when I see an animal being mistreated.  The same treatment should be done to the abuser as to what is done to the victim.  That's about the same way I view crimes against a person, also, especially children.
Have a wonderful day!

Thanks for that post & for helping to raise awareness on animal cruelty.   One of my dogs came from an abusive owner.  To try & see the world through her frightened eyes was a learning experience.  To win her trust was quite rewarding.  The day she began to look happy was the BEST.

We need to keep on pushing for stricter animal abuse laws.  While abuse is now a felony in all 50 states,  many courts are still being too lenient on what is considered to be abuse.  :(

So is this about a family that was screwed by their landlord or abused animals?

This is why you have a checking account and pay for stuff with a check.  You have a cancelled check and can prove you paid rent or whatever.  I know people who refuse to have a checking account and are scared to death the government is tracking them and might know where they spend money.  OR they have an account they get their government check deposited it and the day it comes in they go to the bank and get the money out and supposedly pay their bills in cash.

It breaks my heart to hear stories about abused animals.  I have 5 dogs (all rescued).  My one dog was throwing up and I took him to the vet, he showed me his xray, and there are bb's in him also!  He is the most loving, gentle dog, who would do that and why?  My one other is a puppy mill dog with major trust issues, but all she knew for her first 4 years was kept in a cage, taken out and raped by a dog, got pregnant, gave birth, had babies taken from her, put back in a cage and raped again and so on and so on.  That was her life until we got her.  All animals want is love, food, water, and shelter.  Why abuse them?

First off, thanks so very much for taking Ice in.  What a horrible story.  :(  The world today is not a nice place, especially for animals.  I'm such a big animal lover and hurt so bad when I hear stories like this one, but so happy that her story has a better ending than most.  I've been linking a lot of people to the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF) because they're doing a lot to take away the pain these animals go through.  This petition is for every state to require that every animal abuser be registered (much like a sex offender) in their communities.  If you love animals the way I do, please sign and share this petition, and thank you:
