Lenscrafters?
« on: June 16, 2010, 09:01:23 am »
I've been due for an eye exam for a while. I keep putting it off, I know it's wrong. :crybaby2: I made an appointment at Lenscrafters because my usual eye doctor is so backed up with appointments. Has anyone used Lenscrafters before? How was it? Is it worth it?

I've had a few eye exams at LensCrafters over the years, and also a few at a regular independent optometrist.  What you get at LensCrafters is kind of like fast food... in that, if you were going out for a dinner, I'd compare their eye exam as to going to McDonald's where as an independent optometrist to going to a full service sit down restaurant.  At LensCrafters (at least the times I have had them) you just get a quick basic test, no bells and whistles, nothing in depth.  The times at the independent optometrist were much more in depth/detailed.

If you don't have any serious eye conditions, or a family history of any eye conditions, I'd just keep your appointment for this time with LensCrafters and try to go back to your regular optometrist for your next scheduled exam.

Buy the sunday paper and see if you can find a coupon in there for 50% off lenses. Or do a quick google search on coupons bc its a good deal if you can get a discount.

Ah thank you all very much! I had seen that with a AAA discount I could get 30% off an eye exam. Another reason I wanted to see if it's even worth it to go there.
