Partially. Some other aspects of the "rub" relates to evangelizing propaganda and "forlorn hopes".
Evangelizing IS propaganda.
I would agree in the general sense however, the two words have enough differences in meaning to not quite be synonymous. Propaganda being a more general term for both while evangelism specifically and inherently contains religious propaganda.
As far as the hopes part, if someone can find hope in any resource, I say good for them.
Even a forlorn or, false hope?
Why is it they they feel compelled somehow to copy & paste various random "passages" ...
It's the randomness of the postings that gets me.
I could speculate about that but, it would be just that.
Can you come up with any alternatives to their desire to evangelize and spread religious propaganda?
Alternatives? Freedom of speech, people will say what they want to; hit ignore lol.
Possibly, the intent of my question was missed? I meant alternatives to xtians evangelizing randomly; like singing in church or wearing sandwich signs and bothering people on the street, etc., (not to recommend those examples). Of course anyone can place such posts on 'ignore'. My general policy is to face such publically-posted blind faith head-on whether online or offline. For some (un)reason, those who 'rudely' evangelize tend to consider a dissenting _response_ to such actions as impolite. While that isn't a rational response, it remains possible to understand it as an irrational one. As you may or may not haven't noticed, I'm not exactly a proponent of empty religious claims/blind faith.
