Why would my banner show the wrong amount that I've earned?

When I go into my Account, I see how much I have earned.  The banner in my signature line show a lesser amount.  Does anyone know why that would be?

It takes a little while to update. I remember reading that somewhere, but I am not sure of how long it takes. I wouldn't worry about it as long as the amount on your account page is correct.
