Dear Rebekah,

Tomorrow -- or possibly as early as tonight -- the Senate will cast a crucial vote relating to the confirmation of Senator Chuck Hagel to be our next Secretary of Defense.  

This may be our last chance to stop this nominee!  Please take a minute to click here and ask your senators to vote against proceeding with this nomination!  

Our next Secretary of Defense will face many challenges.  Foremost among them will be stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability.  Yet in the Senate Hagel repeatedly opposed economic sanctions and other practical steps to stop Iran.  

Senator Hagel's performance at his confirmation hearing only confirmed our greatest fears.  He was ill prepared and confused.  He denied requests for further information from Committee members.  Worst of all, he seemed to believe that our policy is the "containment" of a nuclear Iran instead of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability in the first place.

If you don't recognize the greatest threat to America, how can you defend against it?  

If you don't know what American policy is, how can you implement it?
