Am i wrong?
« on: February 22, 2014, 01:14:45 pm »
I was doing a task on diffrent tweets promoting marijuana.. I though okay easy 5 cents.. They are way off here at least i think..What do you think?

Here is an example of Slightly Promoting...
Happy Hump Day. Get high and hump someone
I agree that one is promoting slightly..

This is one i'm confused on...
I just wanna smoke and chill.
Now.. Please tell me how that is promoting? I wanna know because i have to be missing something.. It's pretty much just saying what he wants to do...

Here is another  of apparently Promoting...
Still not enough.... (they had a picture of a buttload of marijuana underneath it..
But how is that one promoting? It's just saying that it's not enough it's a sarcastic remark..

Am i wrong? Is this promotion? I am so confused... >.>

The way I see it is it is their opinion which also comes from people who do their tasks so if you disagree with what they have decided you need to tell them about it everytime.

The first one is majorly promoting.  Not just slightly.  And the second one I would say is promoting.  But like the other response says it is how the person who wrote the task sees it.  I do not see the point in the task if you have to agree with them.  Why do they want our opinion on what random people think if what we think is wrong if it doesn't agree with them.  Does that make sense?

The second one i just don't see the promoting part.. but i guess it is diffrence in opinion and how you look at it..But you do make sence.. Lawlz helped me better than i helped myself cuz i was lost in a twilight zone wondering wthhh! XD

As long as you get paid and maintain your integrity, does it really matter?

I think that's prob'ly the point... That if minioncookies answered and they said the answer was wrong, it was because that was a test question so it would decrease their integrity for that task...

I agree that sometimes those task test questions are terrible in that they are more subjective to have a true "right" or "wrong" answer. I once was doing a task on whether I could see a person's face, and if so state if the person was male, female, or unknown. For the one question, the person's features were very soft, no visible facial hair or pronounced adam's apple. The only thing that may have indicated the sex of the person was that the person was bare chested. However that still doesn't mean that the person was of a particular sex, since there are some women that are very flat chested. So I answered that the person's sex was unknown, but the "correct" answer was that the person was male. And because I got that wrong (along with a few other ones that I considered questionable), my rating got dropped too low so I wasn't given credit for that task and I wasn't able to do any more in that group.

I understand their reasoning for having test questions in order to ensure that it is really a person doing the tasks and not some bot. But at the same time, I feel that they should use questions that are completely obvious for humans for their Turing test. I think if the question is too subjective, then you are going to get too many false positives (in that it'll mark a person as "positive" for being a machine). Furthermore, I wish that if you do argue and state why you believe that the question was wrong or unfair, that the task owners would read through the reasons and reverse the decision so that you could again attempt those tasks in the future. After all, providing a well thought out argument about the test question should also show that this is a person and not a machine doing the test questions. I think my problem with many of those tasks is that I'm too analytical; if there is anything that causes me to question one particular answer, then I assume that that answer cannot be correct. However if I were less analytical and tried to answer based on what I'd assume more of the general public would feel, I'd prob'ly do better with those tasks.

The one thing I've learned with these tasks is whenever you get marked "incorrect" on a test task, and you feel the answer key is incorrect based on your interpretation of the task parameters, it is always to your advantage to file a ticket explaining your reasoning.

If after reviewing the rules and the answer they provided as the "correct" one, if I really cannot see how the task owners reached that conclusion, first I typically will select the "not fair" option at the bottom of the page that indicates I had the incorrect answer and provide an explanation as to why I chose the answer I did.  Then, at the top of the task, I'll open the menu (three horizontal line icon), and open the "Help" menu.  From "Help" I'll select the "file a ticket" option, and specify the task I was working, the answer the task provided, the answer I provided, and an explanation why I felt my answer was correct and their key was incorrect based on the rules provided in the task.  I'll ask the ticket reviewer to send the information to the task owner for review, and request my accuracy be restored and credit for my work if they agree their test answer was inaccurate.

In most cases, I'll get credit and my accuracy restored.  However, depending on the tasks, the keys may not be updated for weeks, months...years....
