Broadway Musicals
« on: October 07, 2016, 08:37:47 am »
I'm currently obsessed with Hamilton, but there are some others I enjoy:

  • Wicked (the novel series is also fantastic)
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • Oklahoma!
  • The King and I
  • Sweeney Todd (this one is another great novel)
  • Fiddler on the Roof
  • The Phantom of the Opera
  • Guys and Dolls
  • Rent
  • Avenue Q

What are some of your favorites?

I haven't really got to see any,  but would want to see Spam a Lot, lol.   But, did read  Wicked ,about the Wicked Witch years,  can't wait to read the rest of them.

Some of my favorites were:

Cats
Grease
Annie
Phantom of the Opera

I'm sure there are more, just can't think of them.  Broadway shows are one of the major reasons I miss New York so much.  I used to love going to these shows!

growing up in Chicago, tickets for the ice shows were hard to get.
tickets for a theater stage show were expensive.
the average person wouldn't think of those things.
they were always "out of reach".

down here in Fort Myers, I have had a better chance of seeing a show on stage.
the acting is good quality. the actors come from NYC.
the price is withing reach.
I chose three shows this year. I missed "my fair lady" since it was my moving day.

Anything goes
Mary Poppins
Clue, the movie

**************************
I have seen a number of shows such as Little orphan Annie   Music Man    Buddy Holly    Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.

We had season tickets for Bob Carr and then Dr Phillips center in Orlando for several years. We gave our tickets up this year. My favorite play over the years was Book Of Mormon. So funny!
