You know, for the time being, that is more of a personal choice.  My son HAD the swine flu...  he is neither dead or disabled from it.  I personally think the shot is a little over rated.  I think you should have one if you have an underlying health condition that is pre-existing...  Just the same as the seasonal flu shot.  If you think about it, this flu is not THAT much different than the others.

I don't have any children, but can understand the concern parents must have.  If I were to have children, various factors would go into whether I decided to get it for them or not.  If they had an underlying health condition, especially an immmunal dysfunction problem or asthma, I would probably have them get it.  Although I have my reservations about the quality control of the shot and how it was rushed into production, there is no question now that H1N1 is hitting children with health issues more seriously than others.

As far as a healthy child, I would have a harder time deciding I think.  If they weren't in school yet, and I had the ability to control their environments and who they are around, I think I would probably skip them getting it.  However, if they were in school, amongst a hoard of kids, teachers, etc, where germs are passed with such ease, I think I'd lean towards them getting it.

Tough call no matter how you look at it.  What really is the lesser of two evils with this?  Kind of makes me glad I don't have kids yet and don't have to make this decision right now.
