My dreams R Speaking to me!
« on: December 13, 2010, 09:15:19 am »
If you dream of being a profession that you in life use to be, and had to in your dream go back to School having 9 years ecsperience.Would you reconsider when you woke?
I have this feeling that I should go back to being a certified nurses assistant instead of a nurse! It could be that . I  :dontknow:enjoyed the hands on part and bonding with people one on one and now that I'm a nurse it just does"t feel the same. So i guess what I am really asking is would you take a job cut just so you could do what you truly enjoy?

I would do what I truly enjoy. I still can't figure out what that is for me yet, so in the meantime I'm working in a field that I like well enough, but I know I won't be able to stay in for many years.

Have you read the book 48 Days to the Work You Love by Dan Miller? It's really good, I highly recommend it!

I would say absolutely yes, except that you need to be practical and make sure that you can survive with the pay cut.  Either cut your expenses or if you can, just cut back your lifestyle.  I mean, don't make yourself broke and poor.  Figure out a way to live with the pay cut before you take it.  You can't put a price on doing something that makes you happy, but being flat broke and worrying about how you are going to pay the light bill will suck all the joy out of simply doing a job you like.

There's nothing better than working at what you love.  Money can't buy that satisfaction.  Just like money can't buy what's really important in our lives.....the real stuff!

there's a huge difference between a cna and an actual nurse. (yes, the pay decrease would be really hard to get used to!) if i were you, i'd explore different areas of nursing--areas where you could have more interaction with your patients.
