I have tried a lot of different diets (I refuse to pay for a program or food) and recently what is working for me is committing to something worthwhile!

I am getting back to doing the long Autism Walks in my area in the fall and am hoping to train for the Iron Girl Triathelon (benefits breast cancer, is HALF marathons in swimming/running/biking and is open to all women ages 18 to 99)

Another thing is trying to keep up with my boys, running around a playground with a 4 yr old & an autistic 12 yr old isnt easy!!

Count your calories and make sure you are eating balanced meals. When I lost a ton of weight I never went above 1600 calories for the day.

Exercise for 30 min everyday will help you shed off weight faster.

Just saying counting calories, planning out my meals, and exercising a little bit everyday made me lose about 2 lbs every week...sometimes more. It's hard work, but if you want to lose weight you have to be dedicated.

http://www.livestrong.com/ check out that site. They have calorie calculators and you can keep track of your calorie burning exercises and daily activies, you can set up a meal plan, and it can help you set up a plan for you, etc. Helped me out a lot.

It may not be how much your eating, it could be what your eating. You could be someone who has a carb sensitive genotype or a fat sensitive genotype. genes have a major impact on how a person metabolizes components of food. If you eat a meal that is carbohydrate rich ad still feel hunger and deprived then you may be carb sensitive and if you eat a meal thats high in fat and still feel hunger and lose energy you may be fat sensitve. Up to 46%of women have a carb sensitive genotype. If your serious about achieving your weight loss goals go to : http://tom17807.eliteweightlosspackage.com

Yuppers, and anorexic people can sometimes be labeled as obese because their bodies get food so little that when they do get food the instantly try to convert it to fat to store it.  It's weird but, true, or at least it was according to discovery health when I watched a program on anorexia and bulemia.
Yeah, I'm actually underweight and borderline obese according to my bmi and body fat percentage. I'm not anorexic I just really need to work out. : No muscle at all.

I love this topic because I believe at some point in everyone's life we have had some unwanted fat in our bodies. The exercising is all good. Just as someone mentioned earlier it's all about the portion control. Depending on how active you are, you can't eat a bunch of calories and expect not to gain weight. So if you tend to eat a lot of calories you have to get out there and exercise more often. I think the best thing is to take walks whether it be with one of your family members, your best friend, or your dog. If you have an active dog that needs exercise then it would help you as well. If you love your dog then you'll really love taking those walks or runs down the block with him. Also, if you have kids or grand-children or just any kid that you really love and spend your time with take them on a run with you as well or go to the neighborhood park with them. Kids will definitely keep you active as well because you have to have a constant eye on them. To me children are my number one motivator. Although, I don't have children of my own yet, I use my baby cousins as my motivators because I constantly babysit them. They usually get bored so I take them to the park and basically run after them all day until it's time to go home. Of course they have eaten food while at the park right along with me but we've all had a day of exercise and had fun. Of course then they get tired and their parents are greatful because at least the kids got exercise, they ate well, and when they get home they will have a great night sleep. Basically, I did the work for them. So if you have great kids that you love in your life use their energy for something good. No kids nearby then you can take your active dog out for a run and you'll shed those unwanted pounds fast. If you're constantly running you will lose weight. You just have to keep at it and never give up.

My wife decided to loose weight and did so by reducing her portion size! She went from 160 lbs. to 123 lbs. that way. She eats what ever she wants to eat, just not too much! She looks great!!!

Try a food journal. People think they eat less when in fact they don't. Everything you stick in your mouth and cook with has calories except for celery and water. A food journal will give you an accurate account of how much you are eating. If you are a female between 5'4 and 5'7 you should only be eating between 1250-1500 calories. In addition, you should be working out 6 days a week doing at least 40 min of cardio EVERY single day. And when I say cardio I mean really moving. Not walking at a snail's pace or chit chatting with the girls at the gym.

Walking may not be enough for you, eventually we all plateau on a work out if we dont keep challanging ourselves.  try adding a few jogging in there or add some free weights when you get home.  Building muscle helps boost your metabolism which helps to burn more fat.  Also look at the foods your eating, are they highly processed?  try adding a few more raw veggies to your diet, fiber filled ones will help you stay full longer for snacks.

Diets don't really work. Life style changes do because if you're on a diet, you'll tend to give up. I am currently 5'4'' and 109lbs and a size 1. I drink six bottles of water daily (it works wonders on your skin). Most people make the mistake of thinking they're hungry when it is just dehydration. An average healthy adult should be drinking eight glasses of water a day but i think thats a little overboard. and then throw in fruits and vegetables. It is really hard at first to drink THAT much water but after the second or third day, you'll get used to it and start actually getting thirsty without it. But also remember that there has to be a balance of diet AND exercise. You can't just depend on diet alone. Good luck(:
