Why is love so complicated?

Love is complicated and it is never painless. Even after all hurt and pain why we do still love the person that constantly hurts you over and over again?

I have always told my friends and family that love shouldn't be painless at the beginning. Only when something rough happens in life should a relationship be difficult - a death or a large financial blow - if life is normal and the relationship makes you sad more than it makes you happy, it's time to get out. Sometimes love is not enough to make a good relationship.

Love is complicated because people are complicated.

For some reason I think this is built into our nature, when we love someone that it is too easy, we get bored, but when their is lots of excitement we tend to chase it more. ahhh, but the drama it causes, and the pain and  the hurt.
