How about a weekend getaway or a nice dinner out?  Congrats to them...my dad passed away after they had been married 58 years he was 90 at the time and I just lost my mother this year at 91.

I just had another thought....if they don't get around well you could give them a gift certificate good for a day of helping them out around the house by you or the grandkids.

a high five. You said it, old people do not like getting actual gifts since they have experienced it all.

Wow, 60 years!!...Congratulations to them!!...Umm, maybe give them a digital picture frame thingy and put a collection of all the photos they've taken together throughout the years on it. (My parents have been married for 47 years.  :) )

How wonderful for everyone to be able to celebrate such a wonderful event!  Is it possible for you to get an details about how they met, where they went, first place they ever went and stayed over together?  Might be nice to try to recreate one of the early memories.  Best of luck - I'll be sure to check back to see what you ended up doing!
