What would you do if you won the lottery?

Obviously we would all pay off bills, buy a house and car.  But really i don't think any of us really know what we would do with that kind of money.

It would depend on the amount but...  My first priority would be to pay off all bills and debt and catch up on all those things I need but have trouble affording these days  Then I'd fix my car and move into a better home.  If there was enough I'd buy a house and new car instead.  Then I'd have a little fun before charging after my desired career as a film set designer.

Would anyone do anything really selfish with a portion of the money they won? It seems like just about everyone who posted would help out family members and/or give to charity. But what about doing something crazy with the money? Like buy an island like some celebrities do, or buy a portion of a sports team? One of the craziest things I think I would do would be to buy a really nice private jet so that I could travel wherever I wanted whenever I wanted.

I guest I am beign selfish, but instead of doing something crazy with the money I would get myself in order like paying off bills start a business investing ito share companies and getting some good health insurance for my self.

If i won the lottery id pay off mine and my fiancee' debt give both our parents some and purchase a family home and car. I'd also put aside some for my sons college fund then save the rest.

if i won a million dollars I would payoff my moms house and have a house of my own built.

I'm assuming the question is referring to winning the big jackpot, and not the $100 or $1000 payoffs.  Assuming that, probably the first thing I'd do is hire a good attorney and accountant/financial planner.  Then after determining what the payout would be (lump sum vs annual payments), and after paying the taxes on the winnings, I would probably save/invest most of it as I figured out what to do.

I probably wouldn't quit my job because I love what I'm doing.  I'd probably setup education funds for each of my nieces and nephews.  Would help out family/friends who'd accept the assistance.  Probably stay in my house because it's perfect for me.  I'd probably buy a new car, but nothing too expensive because that's just not "me".  I'd probably take more longer cruises on vacation time because I love cruises - that's probably how I'd get to see the world (would love to take a trip around the world).  Would also definitely increase my contributions to charities I currently donate.

I'm guessing I probably wouldn't change much, but would just feel more financially secure.

If I won the lottery I would immediatly begin traveling and when I finally came back home, buy my dream home (fixer-upper), do all the remodeling and additions I want then live an easy life.
