Daily task issues
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:07:10 pm »
I'm surprised not to see a post about this already.  I know there are several regarding daily tasks, but they are either old or not related to this particular problem.  Here it is.  Some of the instructions in those tasks DIRECTLY CONTRADICT themselves, leading to "incorrect" answers and eventual disqualification of the task.  For example, one of the "search and record the results" tasks specifically instructs you to go to bing.com and list the results on the drop down menu.  There is a space for ten results, and further instructions regarding GOOGLE search results.  Bing gives eight, not five or ten.  So I put "n/a" in the 9th and 10th spots.  Incorrect.  Leaving blank is not an option.

I have only been a member here for just under a month, and this issue has arisen with more than half the tasks I've tried.  Since they are quite time consuming and pay very, very little, the least the creators of these tasks could do is make certain they are accurate.  I read and follow the instructions accurately.  The tasks ARE time consuming, but they are NOT difficult if you know how to read.  Which I certainly do.

This is just disappointing because the tasks are one of the few ways to earn that neither requires a credit card nor a ton of personal info.  Ha, I guess that's why they're made so poorly.

I am someone who has no success with daily tasks. I find the instructions too complicated for me and I find the tasks take too much of my time. I also, for some reason, do not enjoy them. Other FC members do and some members seem to be successful with daily tasks.

I am on other sites that are similar to FC and all of them seem to offer daily tasks. Some members really like them a lot. Again, I don't. I do not know why but I just do not enjoy them.  :dontknow:

Yeah the tasks are notorious for being frustrating. I keep an eye on them and occasionally they'll have really good ones posted that are worth my time, but for the most part I ignore them. They're good for when you're close to a cashout and you need just a little to push you over the payout threshold.

You can google Crowdflower followed by any insult of your choice to see some really funny blog and forum discussions on them around.

I was doing one recently where it was asking for health keywords in tweets. I entered one phrase from a tweet and got the:

Oops! Some of your answers weren't as expected! You said "cardiovascular health" was the keyword, but it should have been "cardiovascular"

OK whatever, they only want one word, got it. So a few tweets later I saw a phrase "ligament repair" so instead of entering the full phrase, I just entered ligament. And guess what I got:

Oops! Some of your answers weren't as expected! You said "ligament" was the keyword, but it should have been "ligament repair"

If you click the "That's incorrect or unfair" box to let them know, I'm pretty sure our comments go straight into the recycle bin  ;D

What kills me as well is you can do 10 pages correct, but if you have 2 items wrong, then suddenly they say

"Your quality score is 50% which is lower than the minimum for this job"

I may not have been the best math student but please oh please tell me, if you do 10 tasks that have 10 individual jobs inside each, and out of those 100 jobs you get two wrong, how does that suddenly give you 50%?

Best advice I can give is, if you want to tackle them, keep an eye on the "What offer approved for you today?" thread to see which Tasks are approving for other people, and focus on those.

I tried a couple of the daily "Human Intelligence" tasks today and they won't work right with me either.  I do everything it says and yet it comes up with 0.00% accuracy and the person who started this thread....exactly what happened to that person happened to me.  I didn't enter in any sponsored results and I did everything the instructions said I should do.  I'm about to give up already and sure if you have a lightning fast computer and it works for you it doesn't take long but for people that have slower computers and it's not working for us like it is you....it seems to take forever.

Any other pieces of advice rather than just telling us how much you make on these tasks daily???
