I would never do it. Pets deserve to rest in peace. It's making a stiff stuffed animal of them. Gross  ???

  :cat:
In my younger yrs, ya thought it would be so cool to have your best friend by your side. even though the soul essences of your pet is gone. Course eventually, they'd take up the entire house. Big dogs, little cats, fat cats, tiny dogs, medium cat, dogs, hamsters, ats,mice,bird,.....However well done the preserving job was done. I would never be able to look it in the eyes! I know that I'll see nothing in there, just an empty shell! :'(

billybeta69 Well, I wouldn't do it, but the Egyptians did. They buried their pets with them as mummy-cats! I agree w/you the
Egyptians honored the cat. They were treated like royalty as long as they lived. Down side to the royal cats. If the Prince/Pharaho dies suddenly, the cat he owns will go to the grave w/his master buried alive! :crybaby2:

I think it's sort of offensive to stuff dead animal, sort of like if someone stuffed you and hung you on their wall as a trophy, or decoration. Not really cute.

I do not see anything wrong with preserving dead animals because some people like to keep the loving image of the animal they lost.

I think it's a little creepy to stuff a dead pet, however if its a trophy buck or a monster walleye you bet i ll be mounting my trophies...

I'd love to clone my cat. Not preserve it...

;D which animal would you like to see preserved and why. do you like taxidermy and all things odd well im the one to talk about it with :D

I'm curious are you a person who does this for a living or is it your interest. I never had a animal that I wanted to preserve but I have had animals pass away and just wanted them to rest in peace.
