women lie to... honesty is important without it, relationships dont work...not just romantic ones... but friendships as well...if you cant trust someone, you will never get a chance to grow close with them and love them.

I would like to know why they lie so much too. In my last relationship the guy lied all the time about everything. He now wants me to move with him to another state. It really blows my mind that he would think I would move to another state thousands of miles away from where I have lived for the past 26 years to be with someone that can't tell me the truth.

I think it has more to do with the quality of character than gender. I'm sure women lie just as much as men.

Because they think that they can get away with it. If you dont pay attention to the little stuff they dont think that you will pay attention to the other either. Without honesty in a relationship you have nothing.

These are all sweeping generalizations. Not all men lie, not all women lie, men aren't from different planets than women; there are also people who fall outside the gender binary. Many people lie, but it has nothing to do with their genitalia.

My husband he tells stories sometimes they are true and somtimes the are not and I just told him I will back you up if its true but if you I don't know than your on your own.

I don't think that its so much the gender of the person doing the lying but the character of the person....I truly don't think that male/female matters....Both lie...

I agree with the statements about both men and women lying. I think the main reason people will tell "little white lies" is because either they don't want to look bad or they don't want to hurt the other person (no your butt doesn't look big). We like to be seen as "good" in the way we internally define "good' as and we don't want to be seen as "bad". So if a little untruth to others or ourselves protects our internal self worth. No always a good thing in a relationship but the reason why. Real open communication is not always easy, it hurts, we feel "stupid" but if you want to survive together you have to either work it our or live with the untruths.

I know men that lie about major stuff, I don't know what the fascination is with lying..but I do not like it, you never know when you are getting a made up story or if you ask a question can you put any merit into it, we are not suppose to bear false witness, it is a sin..but I found I can't change people.
