I used H&R Home thru my computer last year and was really satisfied with the experience.  Are we being offered a tax prep deal thru Fusion Cash this year?  Hope so!

I really use a personal friend of the family to do my taxes. I hear about some government agencies that offers to do your taxes free under a certain amount of income earned, any way I have no complaint about the friend of the family right now.

If you go to the IRS website they have partnered up with some companies to provide free e-filing for Federal returns. There's a list of companies, each with their own criteria and requirements to provide you free Federal e-filing, and State e-filing for a small fee, usually $15 and up. You would have to research each company and their limits and requirements to see if you qualify. Some would have Income limits, some limit the way you file, let's say standard or itemized. Some whether you do it married filing jointly, etc. This is a good deal, because if you find a company that you feel qualify for, you can e-file the Federal return for free, and pay a really small amount for the State return e-filing. These companies, they all have an online tool or online software (no download required), that will take you by the hand, and take you step by step, throughout the whole process. In my experience those online tools are very easy to understand and will even suggest credits you didn't think you qualified for.

Turbo Tax.

Yes, you actually have to do it yourself, but the program walks you through everything. In addition to that, you do get free e-file and direct deposit with your returns. I will be doing my taxes tonight so that they are in the queue to be accepted tomorrow so that I will hopefully get my return back next week.

Definitely get a tax software and do your taxes yourself.  Saves yourself some $$$$$ and nobody knows all your business.
