My parents still do live in the same house. Nice isn't it? I cannot say I like it there anymore. But I am living in the upstairs apartment now ever since my divorce. I guess it worked out for me. It did save me.

Sort of.  My Mom inherited a home her parents purchased.  She and my Dad invested in a few properties and after he passed she sold one along with some land and redid the home her parents left her.  That is where she lives now.  In the mean time the house one of the houses I grew up in she rented to me where I lived for another 10 years with my older two children.  She still owns both homes.

My parents lived in the same house for 36 years. They had to sell the home after my dad was diagnosed with cancer.  :(

My Dad built his own home right next door to his parents house. They gave him the land. He's 90 and still lives there on his own now. There is definitely something about keeping in touch with your roots.

No, my parents don't live there anymore. I actually miss having my childhood home in the family quite a bit.

What a great question. My family still lives in the house I grew up in.  We have lived there for 30 years.

No. My parents are deceased. However, the home that I was raised in was built by my Dad a year before he died. The house is over 50 years old and still standing. I would love to have the nerve to ask the people living there if I could take a peek inside. It would be nice to see if it still looks the same.

Not sure why I thought of this question, but I do know that I truly miss my childhood home.  My parents moved out of it many years ago and have since moved again and live in a different state now.  Are you parents still in the same house you grew up in?
My grandparents and parents have passed on but everyone moved too often...Would have been nice to have had 1 childhood home but it is what it is...that's life

My mother and I moved from the house I grew up in when I was 11 after my parents divorced.  My father stayed in the home until he died.  It's funny because I will sometimes dream of that place not that I had a great attachment to it.

No both my parents are dead and buried at Ft. Bliis Military cemeteary in El Paso.  The house I considered my growing up house was sold shortly after my mother died.

My parents and I moved out of the house I grew up in back in July 1983 to California.  Unfortunately, they both passed away within the past 12 years.
My dad passed away in late 2001 and my mother passed away in mid 2003.

No, it no longer exists.  I grew up in a wood frame house.  There was a company who was paying $1,000 per room to buy homes but had deeds returning the homes they built back to them in the event of the homeowner's death.  My grandmother held on to her old house for a long time; I surmised that it was because there were a lot of memories and she wasn't ready to give it up.  My uncle told her he wanted her to live in a house better than that and, at the time, I was for it.  She was given $4,000 for her 4 rooms in 1974 and we moved into an apartment.  I was at home the day the men from the company came by to tell her they could not build her new home in the same place because of a sewer problem.  They became upset with me because I wanted to know why they were able to build everyone's home in the same place but not hers.  I was told to stay in a child's place.  My grandmother accepted what they said.  I left for a month in 1975 and when I returned, the house was finished and it was beautiful.  My uncle hired a lawyer and the house was the family home until my mother took ownership of it in 1985.  When she died in 1996, she left my youngest sister in the house.  The house is now 38 years old with all sorts of problems, yet my youngest sister and her children are still in it. :star:  :peace:
