i agree, lovey dovey couples are annoying but it's just painful to see someone go completely spineless around someone they like

sometimes a passive person matches up with an assertive person because they like not having to make the tough decisions... and the assertive person likes taking care of someone.....

Fair enough.  It just kills me to see it.  Plus I am a pretty assertive person, and will not date too laid back people.  It isn't exactly fair, but I know that I have a tendancy to walk all over (not on purpose) anyone who is too laid back. That is how I got some of my best friends though, so it's all good.
