Good printer??
« on: November 28, 2013, 07:15:13 pm »
Does anyone have a recommendation for a printer that doesn't have to have a new ink cartridge every time you turn around??  We've had 2 different kinds and they both use too much ink!  Right now we have a Lexmark and I like the fact that it scans, faxes and prints but even though we don't print very much at all seems like every time I do want to print, its out of ink.  I even tried taking the ink cartridges out and resealing them till next time I needed to print and that didn't help either.  If anyone has any suggestions I'd sure appreciate it.  Thank you!

I have a Canon MP190 all-in-one printer. The ink lasts a very long time, but it is expensive, since the dumb thing won't accept remanufactured cartridges.

I think you'd have to buy a commercial grade printer to get the best, like at schools, th library and offices.  I print coupons and I have to buy ink about once a month

Get an HP, they cost more but have longer lifetimes especially with the ink in my opinion.

Most printer brands are good, I have just had a black and white printer forever.

I'm not sure which printer uses less ink, but I would recommend pricing the replacement ink cartridges before purchasing a new printer. The printer could cost more, but you would save money in the long run with one that uses $15 cartridges compared to $25.

the most important thing about a printer is being able to control the color part.  I have an all in one brother and it uses just black ink.  I love it.  Cost 60 for 7000 pages of ink.  However for my color I have a hp and it is expersive because now you have to have originals.  God Bless

I'm looking for a new printer, too. I've had a couple Lexmarks and wasn't very impressed. This time I want an inexpensive one just to do the basics for the time being. I found a Hewlett Packard DJ 3520 e-All-In-One Wireless Printer at Amazon for a very reasonable price. Is anyone familiar with this model?

Dell or HP would be good printers to have. I heard a lot of good things about them.

I seem to have the same problem and I have a Lexmark printer as well. I don't use my printer that much either. I think I am going to start buying the refill black and color ink since it is way cheaper then buying new ink cartridges each time. Other then the ink usage it is a good printer.

We have a color laser.  It's expensive to replace the toner, but you get tons of pages before you need more toner.  Highly recommend it.  Beautiful copies.

I have an hp laserjet P1006. Ive had it for 4 years now and ive only changed the ink twice. The only thing is that it can only print and it can only print black and white. If thats not a problem then i recommend it.
