Watermelon is  my very  favorite fruit. We've already bought two watermelons this season and enjoyed the both.

A good watermelon is hard to beat in the summertime.

I have made watermelon rind pickles years and years ago.  they were OK, but I much prefer just eating the watermelon.

If we get a seeded melon, we like to have seed spitting contests in the back yard.

I am waiting to go home to a lot full of watermelon..

how satisfying the thought.
I love watermelon. It is especially juicy and a bit messy. Seed spitting was the most fun a s kids. Did you have contests for seed spitting? We did. Do kids even do that anymore. I guess we were easily entertained.

I am not a watermelon person at all but my husband and two daughters love it. We have a fruit and vegi stand near by that we will go to in season and they have some of the sweetest ones. Or so they say. I get the peaches and such for me.

I just picked up a very large watermelon for only $3.49 the other day!  We are still working on finishing it off.  Very refreshing in this heat.  It's been 100+ degrees for a week and a half, nice way to cool off!

My family has already gone through 2 watermelon this year.  Gonna be picking up the 3rd and working on it this week.  Last time I lucked out and Aldi had Lemon Sorbet for $1.99 - I nabbed it cause it's usually around $5 from Target.  When the watermelon cubes are starting to loose there juicy yumminess.  I make a watermelon smoothie.  Oh my gosh it's become one of my favorite things about summer.

I love watermelon but don't buy one too often since my husband doesn't eat it much.  If I know the grandkids are gonna be around I'll buy one because they will help me eat it.  My Mom and my grandpa really loved watermelon too and I guess that's where I got my love for it.

Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits, as well.  It quenches my thirst in the summer and it's a source of lycopene which is an essential nutrient found in tomatoes.

I'm unable to eat tomatoes so when it's watermelon season...I go to town.
Have a great day!

I didn't even know it was watermelon season, but when I was out and about today it seemed like I saw them everywhere I looked.
