I live on flat rock and  it strikes here a lot everything is on surge protectors, that helps a lot.

Lightning storms always make me a little nervous, but I love the sound of thunder rolling in the distance. It's very soothing and peaceful to me somehow. I think it's wise to talk whatever precautions you see fit. Stay safe.

rains all the time here in the Big Easy.   And yes lightening does come through windows.  I know the older the windows that were not insulated they did when I was way way younger.  Not sure about the newer ones.   Most houses were not well grounded back in the day.

We've also had a lot of storms here in Illinois.  I think lightening can strike anywhere, place not withstanding.
