I have never been called a racist, but apparently if you describe a friend and mention their skin color or race as an identifying characteristic, that can be perceived as being racist.  So long as people treat me with a general amount of respect, I'll do the same for them.

Not directly, although being conservative we're always called racist regardless of what the issue is about... Case in point is that fiscal conservatives tend to disagree with President Obama's policies on their economic impact and yet because we disagree with the president, we're labeled as racist.

You know I remember when he was running and during the election everyone saying to the white man if you did not vote for obama you was a racist.  But yet could not see how you could say the same thing about them if they were black and did not vote for the white guy.  But these days it is not even just about color of skin.  If a person is gay and you disagree with them or dislike them then you are labeled a racist.  It does not matter what the reason for disliking them is.  If you don't like them you are called names and put down.

I was in Jr. high. I was standing up for my sibling who was in an interracial relationship... other people said racial comments and I was singled out and told I was going to be kicked out of school for be racist!? I assume she thought I was the one saying things or because the person was racist and didn't like me for saying that people should be treated equally. I don't care it still angers me because I was standing up for her.  >:(

What is funny about your answer in part >>>> But yet could not see how you could say the same thing about them if they were black and did not vote for the white guy.  Many Blacks have been voting for White Presidents since blacks where able to vote. One Black President and conservatives think the world is about to end. Try being just a American and not a liberal or conservative then maybe our country would get somewhere. I am so tired of this segregation, this is what blacks had to deal with for over 400 years. Haven't you learned a lesson by now. The people in the White House only care about your vote not if you are liberal or conservative. That is the thing they prey upon and continue to divide.

Try being just a American. I really never did get this liberal and conservative thing. Some made up words given a meaning and then people said yeah that's me. I am neither, I am a American first and always will just be. Moderate seems to be their middle name calling for me but I just think I am for my American people. Why do they classify anyway hmm just another way to segregate Americans. Oh to answer the question no I have never been called a racist to my face.
