No, the local ones are basically ethnic food booths

Part of the reason I like going to the fair here in Oklahoma, is because they always have Deaf Awareness Day.
As a Sign Language Interpreter Major in college, it is wonderful to have a chance to go and socialize with members of the Deaf community!

Plus...the food is pretty neat too!

We never went to the state fair when I was a kid, it was too far away and I wasn't aware of any county fairs.  Now I live in NM and used to live just five blocks from the state fair grounds so I went every year.  :D Since I moved to this small town I don't usually get up there for it and I've only been to our county fair once.  It's hard to do things like that these days with limited funds and no car.  :(

I love fairs. I might skip out periodically on dedicated carnivals, but if there is a particular theme I'm interested in, such as home remodeling, crafts, collections, etc. then I'm more likely to go.

Yes for the food, lol. No because of parking issues and just soooo crowded.

Love the fair!  We always went when we were kids and when my girls were young we took them every year.  Now just my husband and I go, eat some if the good food and walk around and enjoy the stands and free shows.  Lately the paid shows are mostly geared for teens, rock bands.

I loved the fair when I was growing up and even when my sons were young but I have trouble walking and standing now and in recent years haven't had the $ to go.

I used to love to go to the fair when I was a kid but not anymore.  The fairs are not the same.  They are too expensive. The entertainment is not as good and there are fewer exhibits.

I use to look forward to the fair each year.  I haven't been in over 10 years now, though.  I have a long standing grudge against the president of the fair board and haven't been overly fond of some of the big changes to the fair.  $10/person/night is way to much to get in to a county fair especially for families with several children who look forward to going to the fair.  We use to be able to get family and weekly passes that made it more economical for families to go.
Have a wonderful day!

I normally don't go.  I don't have any kids which would make it more fun ... it just messes up the traffic for a while.

We look forward to going to the fair because it comes to town when we celebrate our anniversary. So we go and that's how we celebrate it. It is so much fun.
Yes. I can say that going to the Texas State Fair was lots of fun. There are so many venues to see. The animals and the bird shows are  my favorite things about the fair. NOt to much into the Midway. The butterfly house is breath-taking. Too bad I can't afford to go every year!

When our kids were young they were in 4H so they had a lot of entries in the County Fair......art, crafts, clothing, rabbits, and horses.

The animal projects were my favorite.  They were a lot of work, but we enjoyed the horse shows, the comraderie by all even when it was time to clean out the entire horse barn at the end of the fair.

Our kids did very well in their projects and earned State Fair trips on numerous occassions.
