 It was a hot Saturday evening  in the summer of 1958 and Fred had a date
 with Peggy  Sue.  He arrived at her house and rang the  bell.

 "Oh, come on in!" Peggy  Sue's mother said as she welcomed Fred  in.

 "So, what are you and Peggy  planning to do tonight?" she  asked.

 "Oh, probably catch a  movie, and then maybe grab a bite to eat at the malt
 shop, maybe take a walk on the  beach..."

 "Peggy likes to screw, you  know," Mom informed him.

 "Uh...really?"  Fred replied, with raised  eyebrows.

 "Yes," said the  mother.  "As a matter of fact, she'd screw all  night if
 we let her!"

 "Well,  thanks for the tip," Fred said as he began thinking  about
 alternate plans for the  evening.

 "Have fun, kids," the  mother said as they left.

 Half an  hour later, a completely disheveled Peggy Sue burst  into the
 house and slammed the front door behind  her.

 "The TWIST, Mom!"  She  angrily yelled at her mother.

 "THE DAMN  DANCE is called the twist!!!!!!!!!!

That was pretty good! I was a little worried with the topic's title and the date 1958 in the first sentence, but I think plenty of people (even in the younger generation) have heard of the twist. And I think everyone can relate to having a parent or older relative being confused or using the wrong terminology to something recent that their kids know more about.

Oh yeah, I can relate with that, but it was my grandmother. Mom was really up on the dances.  And we also watched Bandstand.  Grandma was old fashioned. She did not believe the girls and boys should date until in there 20's with out a chaperone. But I loved her and miss her.

That sounds like my mom. She was always incorrectly swapping words and she never understood the problem.
