I used to do my own taxes.  But now I have a few investments in the stock market and I have to pay the Obamacare tax penalty so it's more complicated for me.  I let my brother do my taxes as he has an accounting degree and is good with numbers.

I've been using TaxAct for a while now.  My finances are not all that complicated so I still do my own taxes.  Maybe some day I'll need to hire an accountant, but I'm so interested in the topic I may just take courses to become a CPA and still do my own.

I have always done my own. I worked for Jackson Hewitt when I was in college. Taxes are not rocket science. You get forms, you input them, you pay or get refund.

Did it myself this year. Used a website and they did it all free. So far not seen any problems. Don't have anything complicated to make it even more complicated so I don't think there will be any issues.
