some people can remember details of  things that happened in the past.
they can remember what someone might have been wearing, what color shirt, tie or pants.
they might remember the expressions on a person's face.

if you get together with people who went someplace when you did, you might say
"I remember the man in the white tie." Then someone else might add to what you said because they were at the same event. It can go on and on.

Yes, I do know what you mean. I have a twin sister and we are 47 years old. We live in different countries. Sometimes I will say to her, do you remember that dress we had when we were toddlers with the white teddy bear on the front? She'll say, do you remember our first purse? She said it had a gold chain on the front and was given to us by our grandfather. I remembered it alright. I loved the chain so much that I pulled it off! I'm so grateful I have another half a brain in England. She helps me remember stuff!

i remember a lot of things from years gone by..but i think my husband and oldest daughter are the worst..i almost think they remember being born..lol

I just don't remember too much at all from my childhood (don't know if that is normal or not).  And, I've never been very observant.  My husband fusses at me about that but I just can't be any other way.  Now I do pay more attention to what is going on around me if I have any of the grandkids with me out in public and I did when our girls were little.  But, as I've gotten older I've just reverted back to my old non-observant self lol.

I don't tend to remember details like that that aren't important.  I also don't remember very much from when I was very young.   I feel like I'm fairly observant, I just don't retain the small things.

I'm definitely a detail person.  I notice things others don't and I can remember the details as well.  I've always been like this.  ;)

I think it is a gift. Some people are blessed to have certain skills and some are learned. I for one can attest for the fact that I can remember any addresses that I have been to years ago. When I close my eyes I can see those numbers. The mind is a beautiful thing.

I have had a poor memory all my life.  My younger siblings could always remember much better than I could.  I don't know the reason, but sometimes I think it's because I had a severe head injury when I was about 11 or 12.  There are times when I try to remember something that is just out of reach.  It is so frustrating.  I would so much like to be able to remember better.  Those when can are blessed.

I remember events and places, but I never remember what people were wearing at the time. That's very specific and probably a sign of a very good memory!

Then again, I come from a family with a history of dementia so I always worry about my memory. Eeep!
