I wake up 1-2 hours early to get ready, eat, and use the bathroom.. I always get a stomach ache in the morning when I eat something, so to avoid the bathroom at work or college I need to have a decent time after I eat

I'm mostly 5-10 minutes early, once in a while I may be late depending on certain situations that may arise.

I'm usually at work about 45 minutes early but use the time to get set-up for the day with things that have to be done before the "time-crunch".  I don't get paid by the hour anyway (commission), & LOVE my job, so it's def not a problem.

I've had jobs in the past where I got there right on time, or a few minutes late due to the fact that I really didn't want to be there, but had to be.

I arrive a bit early or on time most days, unless there is traffic or something, and the DC area traffic is a nightmare 24/7.

I general arrive at work before anyone else and leave shortly after every one else has left.  Working ten to eleven hour days allows me that bragging right. I do contract work at night and on the weekends and typically work forty hours (more than any other contractor) even with understating my actual hours worked-which provides value to both companies that I work for and adds up to some pretty nice bonuses, job stability and ease at moving onto other jobs and projects. I work as hard as I can whenever I can because I had some rough times between 2008-2012 with my own three businesses. I hope to never be in that position again and as such have turned into somewhat of a workaholic.

I'm always a few minutes early.  I don't like to be late. I usually have worked as a supervisor and it looks bad if you are late.

I'm not working right now but when I did work, I always planned to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early. It's the same regarding doctors appointments. Really, if you're not 15 minutes early for an appointment, you're late!

Subject doesn't fit the discussion you started, you are talking about tardiness.  If you are talking about attendance I have missed 1 day in my entire life(no one is perfect) and that was in 1997 and I have been working since 1982  :highfive:

I am usually the first one at my job and I live the furthest...go figure! lol ...but I am counting down the days until retirement! 5 years and 6 months! :)
How are you in your 40's and only have 5 years to retire?

When I was working I always showed up at least a half hour early. Thats the way I am. Yes, there were those days that I as late, but because of traffic of an accident. Nothing I did on purpose.

I have always been at least 15 minutes early.  Not sure what your job was that you would be late because you didn't want to be there but that is not fair to your co-workers who work with you or someone who is waiting on YOU to come in so they can go home.  We have a lot of people that do that where I work and it drives me nuts.  If I get off at 5 but the person that is to relieve me doesn't show up until 10 after then has to go get their stuff and get to their station then I end up having to stay over 10-15 minutes on a job I don't want to be on either.

I think if a person accepts a job then they need to be on time and show up when scheduled.  But it has been my experience that the ones who call in and show up late and are the biggest goof offs - they are the ones who get moved up first and the quickest.
