The Daily Comic on Paid to Click
« on: September 10, 2015, 07:03:56 am »
I used to always enjoy the daily comic choice in the Paid to Click items. They were silly and funny.

The last couple weeks they are mostly about divorce, and really lack humor. It is like the cartoonist is bitter over his own divorce perhaps? Or maybe the comics are stuck in rotation on bad relationships.

Once in a while a joke/cartoon on divorce may be humorous, but daily getting a tacky, sassy comic on divorce is not fun or funny.  Anyone who has gone thru that understands.

I wish they would start rotating subject matter again.

:) In my opinion, I think that is becoming prevalent in other comics as well. It is the society slowly degrading its traditional beliefs and foundations. Sad to watch. :)

I get what you are saying. For someone who may be going through a painful Divorce  nothing on the subject will be funny.

Fortunately it's pretty fast to flip past and still get credit for viewing, so I don't stress over it. I will just wait until they get back to a more interesting topic and in the meantime, keep piling up the pennies.

I do read the comics daily and I rarely find them entertaining, however, in the past I have thought some of them were pretty cute.  I have noticed that trend myself, and thought perhaps they changed comic providers.  As oldbuddy said above, get your money and move on.

The daily comic is usually about divorce or dentistry, so I assume the comic is a divorced dentist.

I read the comics daily and I too do not find them very funny. I thought comics were supposed to be funny. :monkey:

Maybe they should get him to do the comics?

All I remember about the daily comic is that his funnies were about divorce. I didn't like it, but oh well. I guess that's his thing to make humor about.  ::)

I did like the comment about him being a divorced dentist. That thought had also crossed my mind.

Comedy certainly is not what it used to be.  I could sit through a marathon of I Love Lucy, Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, Carol Burnett or someone else along that line and laugh until I cry.

By today's standards, that type of comedy apparently doesn't work too much anymore.

Nowadays it's about how much one person can hurt another - whether physically, emotionally or some other way.

Divorce is by no means anything to laugh about.  I know exactly what you are talking about which is why I quickly go to the recipe page.  I'd much rather read about soup.

Personally I think it's either a switch in the comic artist or (like said above) just that the comic is drawing too much out of his own life. I've seen a lot of great comics on other parts of the web and it's sad that the ones here aren't funny. Usually I either glance at it or skip it altogether. Never been a believer in astrology but reading the horoscopes are always interesting.
