I Love My Husband

My husband and I have our ups and downs, as any marriage will.  Sometimes I love him so much, other days he's not really my favorite person.  I'm ashamed to admit that once in a blue moon I even feel like I hate him - although I always assume if I didn't truly love him, I wouldn't feel mad or hurt because I just wouldn't care.

For example - if a stranger spoke to me in a mean tone, I wouldn't think a thing of it.  Now, if my husband did - I would feel sad.  That's because I love him and want him to love me and show me in the way he speaks to me.  Does that make sense?

Through the good and the bad, I feel like God is making it more and more clear to me that although my husband is not perfect (and let's be honest, neither am I) he is definitely perfect for me.

I know I'm not alone when I say I have been through a lot in my life.  A lot of good things, yes, but also a lot of painful things.  It's so obvious that God hand selected my husband for me.  He has been so patient (as patient as any human being could be) with me and has really stuck by my side through some of the most difficult things I have ever gone through!

After being married for 34 years everything you said makes perfect sense to me.  We definitely had our ups and downs but my hubby passed away 3 years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him terribly.

Hopefully the real lesson you are learning is patience. My wife and I were both divorced and after a few years in this new marriage we hit some rough times, but I just took a deep breath and gave her a big hug and tried to throw a little extra sugar in the mix. Sometimes it took a while, but it always passed.

The point is, the 43 years of mostly happy times and our six kids with 13 grandkids would never have come to pass if we took the easy way out. It's more than worth it to hang in there and ride out the problems together.

Aww that is so sweet! Your lucky you have found the one. Some women search their whole life for the right one and never find him. It's understandable that you sometimes hate him. You've been together for so long your bound to step on each others toe once in a while. The true test is that he is still there.

His never left you no matter how mad you've made him. That means a lot. We all want the romance of "the notebook." But that is just unrealistic that's why we love the movie so much. I'm happy you've find your true love.

That is wonderful! I am not married so I can't speak from experience, but I am in a relationship with someone and we have a child together, and yes at times I feel the same way, but I know in my heart he is the one for me, he has seen me hit rock bottom (he was with me when my oldest son passed away) and he helped me through it, and I tell myself if he can love me when I've hit the ultimate low and not leave my side, than he deserves nothing but the best from me! Hopefully one day (sooner rather than later) I can say I married my best friend
