Would you ever take your pet inside a restaurant and expect to be seated?

I'm not referring to service animals.  I understand some people need to have their service animal with them at all times.

Apparently, there's a problem, here in Utah, where people expect to be served when they bring their pet with them.  I understand the restaurant owner has the right to ask if it's a service animal.

Some people lie in order to sit down to eat when their pet is with them.

Would you do that?

If I really want that much time with my pet I would order my food....to go... so other people don't have to deal with my special friend while they're eating dinner.

No I would not.  I also would not eat in a restaurant that allowed animals inside.  Service dog or not.  Half the service dogs are not really service dogs.  You can register your dog as a companion dog and it is classified as a service dog.  People get carried away with their dogs.

I wouldn't although my dog is actually more well behaved and cleaner than some children I've seen in restaurants

I have seen people bring their pets in all kinds of places and get really upset when told they cannot be there.  Pet hair seems to go everywhere not matter how they clean.  IF they want to eat with them take them to your own home, I don't want to eat with or after them.  I have pets so it is not that I do not like pets.

The restaurant owner/manager had better be careful about letting any animals that are not service animals inside the restaurant.  I believe someone could call any agency that has to do with Public Health and complain.  They could be temporarily/permanently shut down and/or pay a fine, I think!
