How do you like your corn on the cob?
« on: June 11, 2016, 12:52:43 pm »
How do you cook it, steamed, grilled, boiled, or in a foil? What kind of toppings? My area has corn on the cob festivals yearly. Yummy, have a gr8 day!  :present:

Any way is fine, as long as I have plenty of dental floss...ha ha ha :)

Mostly from the grill.

I agree with everyone else, I like mine cooked any way, as long as it is tender it is fine. Just give me lots of butter, salt and dental floss for desert.

We steam it for 10 minutes above about an inch of water, then serve it with butter and salt. Yummy! I have to slice my corn off the cob because my teeth have a problem with it on the cob.

We've always boiled our corn on the cob in water.

I am interested to try braggin's method of steaming above water.  So, braggin, what kind of pan and rack do you use?

I think the best way to prepare it is on the grill.  We open it up just enough to get the big bushy patch of corn silks off the end, but leave the husk on tight.  Soak it in a sink or pot of water for about 10-20 minutes so that the husk is not dried out, then throw it right on the flaming grill until the husk get crispy.  The smell of grilled corn is amazing and (just like hot dogs) the taste of grilled vs. boiled is tremendous!!!

I tried a new idea last year that I saw in a magazine. They just boiled the corn and then drizzled it with a mixture of butter and  Franks Louisiana Hot sauce. I was skeptical, but I loved it.
