That sucks! Sometimes it happens when taking surveys. I spent quite a bit of time on one the other day only to be told I don't qualify.   I gave perspectives I know they will still use.

Here is a new one.  I was doing a survey for a different site last night.  I swear I had spent close to 40 minutes doing a survey that paid around a dollar.  Then one of the last questions tells me they need to access my webcam to do like 3 more questions.  And tells me how to make sure I am centered in the camera and make sure the laptop is sturdy.  Blah Blah Blah.  I went on but when the pop up for the camera came up I denied access.  Not sure if the payment will stay or be denied later.  I did have the opportunity to give comments before the final submit.  I told them that if they were going to need to access the webcam they need to tell people that upfront.   Not wait until the last question then spring that on people and then deny payment if they do not comply.  NO BODY accesses my webcam.

So far my payment is still in my account.  And this is the only site I am a member of where they can later take your money earned back away from you.   >:(

I have done dozens of surveys that use my web cam; but the difference is that I've always known up front within the first few qualifying screens that I was going to be asked to use my web cam. They have all been quick and easy and paid with no issues. But just because *I* don't have a problem with it doesn't mean that it is for everyone.  So I agree with the op's frustration with having that sprung on her that deep into the survey.  If it were me, I likely would have gone ahead at that point and granted access. But that's just me.

On a similar note - I hate the surveys that ask me about my kids and then ask if my child is available to take part of the survey.  Depending on the survey topic, I don't have a problem with this (provided that I am IN THE ROOM with her and see the questions that they ask) and have let her participate in several surveys. The part that I dislike is when they don't inform you up front that they are going to ask you to do that.  I've had to suspend (and lose) quite a few of those because my child was unavailable at the time.

I always deny access to  my webcam, I have only seen that request a few times but it has always been at the beginning of the survey,  which I can appreciate because I have the option upfront as to if I wish to proceed.

Oh yeah.  They get your answers and use the ones they want.  You answer questions wrong and get kicked out.  They don't want answers from every one they want answers to get the results they want.  Kind of like the crap spewed on the news this morning that  like 59% of the people who voted for Trump would change their vote.  Uh how did you come up with that?  You did not ask everyone who voted for Trump so there fore your stats are invalid.  Or when they say x % of the women in the US feel this way about a certain topic?  Well since you did not ask EVERY WOMAN IN THE US then your stats are invalid.  And when people answer in a way that will not give you the result you want you disqualify them.  And you ask someone else.  And you do this until the people answer the way you want them to so you get the results you want.

Yeah, I have seen where they ask the kid questions that they most likely will not know.  Like asking a 12 year old the household's total yearly income.  Or if there is a gun in the house.

You do surveys person to person?  We were leaving the grocery store the other day and some man with an ipad asked if he could ask us a few questions.  Nope.  And we kept walking.

I've had several of them like that but they've always told me at the beginning of the survey that it would be needed.  Usually its when I am watching videos they want to track the reactions. Ive never gotten one that asked at the end to use the webcam.

I usually take my surveys on my PC and it does not have a webcam. I usually refuse when they ask me if they can access it. And, if asked mid survey, I just x out as they are going to DQ me anyway.

I always keep my webcam covered and only use it for family and friends.  I don't want my likeness out there for anybody to use.

If it does not have a webcam then why would they ask to access it?  I finished the survey but denied web cam access.  As of now they have not revoked my credit.

Nobody can access the cam unless you allow it.  People can't just access it and spy on you.  I had never used a webcam until about a year ago.  And have only used it with one person.  Nobody can just access your camera and spy on you.  But since this happened I do have a post it over the camera.  I done that when I finished the survey even though I said no just in case they some how did.  All they would see is darkness.
