I know quite a few people that got nice jobs that they weren't qualified for (had no training or schooling for, and no experience) because of "connections".   It's all in "who you know"....

I've been unemployed for a couple years now. I finally just gave up trying to find a job. I was a nurse for 25 years and have multiple health problems that make it difficult to work in my field as well as other jobs. Of course I'm not "disabled" in Social Security's eyes so here I sit.  :(

One of the worst things about some jobs is needing to have experience. If you don't have experience, how can you get experience.

Have always said this was problem especially for kids coming out of school.  If no one gives people a chance how do you cain the gain experience.  Received noticed that as of July our company is outsourcing more so I will be out a job by the year end and who is going to hire a 60 year old woman that may retire in 2 years?

I am always finding jobs online for remote work at home positions.

market is really bad.. and yes, it would be great if they could hire people with low qual and train them to be able to reach higher position... and worse of all is hearing people telling you "you are overqualified for this job"... seriously?? That should not happen... they are probably worries you might quit too soon...

A long time ago, companies used to have OJT-On the job training. Education was a plus...
the company would hire you and train you-not anymore. Now, most companies will hire you, if
you have both: education and work experience. Companies are in business for profit and
it is too expensive to train new employee.

That's about the same way it's always been done.  I know jobs are hard to fine, but you can't give up on you.

When I was in the job market, I was told I was over qualified.  I think they tell you that to pay you less money.  I'm retired now and do volunteer work feeding the homeless and we all get paid the same amount of money $0.

True, but there are also lots of jobs that you can do with barely any experience or even much of an application required, such as Uber/Lyft...
