compost

restaurants should make compost piles with the extra food that is left on people's plates.
I talked to a dining room manager recently saying that when I ordered ham, I got three pieces when one would be sufficient. There were a few others in the restaurant who felt the same and commented on the large portion.
The manager said he didn't see any problem with that.
I know there is a lot of wasted food.
Maybe someone someday will start a compost pile.
hey, someone had the great idea about recycling and new products are made from old scraps of most anything all the time now.

I always bring any  food left over in a  food box,  You can not put meat, diary, in a compost. But I do compost all of my veggies, egg shells, fruit and skins of all.  Then I have good compost the next year for my garden.

It always bugs me how society seems to make it the fault of the people for things like littering, pollution, and waste. You are called a litterbug if you throw a can on the ground, or told "there are starving kids in (insert place)" and made to feel bad about wasting food when corporations are literally dumping toxic waste into water supplies and farmers don't even send 1/3 of the food they grow to markets because "it looks funny".

I have never heard of compost to be used as fertilizer.
