Would you rather live in the city or the country?
Lived in Manhattan, NYC as a child, teen, moved to suburbs (married), there's sometjhing great about both, step out of my door and walk to the curb, and bam! here comes the bus!Yyou could go anywhere anytime without worrying about "The car" am I low on gas and so on? the bus  is always ready to go.  Ah but the peacefulnes in the country, the beautiful sceneries, mountains shrouded in mist, flowers in the spring and leave us not forget the wildlife, that I really love, so it's a 50-50  proposition for me. :-

I prefer city life.  As a matter of fact, New York is one of my favorite cities.

I was born and raised in Chicago, so I'm VERY used to the hustle and bustle of the city life. When I was 20, I was engaged to a gentleman originally from Tennessee (Dresden to be exact.) He somehow managed to talk me into moving there with him. We lived in the middle of nowhere. The neighbors were half a mile away on each side, there were so many massive and strange species of bugs that I had never seen before which terrified me. There was a creek behind the house with wild dogs that had attacked people and animals in the area, so being outside at night wasn't safe...not that I would have wanted to because the mosquitoes were HUGE. We lived across from a hay field which made me sick ALL THE TIME (I never knew I had allergies until then.) Finally, the people were so rude to me because I was a "city girl". Some stored refused to serve me based on my appearance and no one understood me because I "talked too fast". After about 2 months, I was completely fed up with the country life and we moved back to Chicago. Some people are cut out for that life, but I definitely wasn't. lol

Well, I love my country life, however I miss conveniences of a big city.  I live in a very rural remote area, I love the privacy, laid-back way of life.  However, when my husband travels and I go with him I love the big cities, conveniences of restaurants, stores, shopping.. but hate the traffic.

I actually live in a suburb of a large metropolitan city.  I much prefer this over the country.  I like having neighbors and being close to shopping areas.  I don't care to drive 10 miles to get to a store - winter or summer.

I would prefer to be able to walk or ride a bike wherever I want to go, but I live in the county and can't currently do that. But I really like the fresh air and nearby nature.

My answer is city. Kind of. When you say city vs. country, are you talking about the extreme small apartment, people constantly walking by, noise traffic image you get in movies, vs. Timmy fell in a well, nothing but green grass, hay, and grandma country you also get in the movies? Because if that is the question, then the answer is neither. I couldn't stand living in either of those situations very long. I like to have access to food, shopping, etc within a few minutes drive of my house, that attractions and entertainment are not much farther away, but if I do want to get away from it all then it wouldn't be hard too either. So, maybe suburbs? Then again, hollywood  attaches negative images to that too. Maybe there is no winning in any of this, lol.  :cat:

I am a country girl at heart. Have lived in the city and am so glad i don't anymore. Although i do live in a small town now instead right out in the country. But all i have to do is go to my dads or brother and i am back out in the country. You never get away from it. LOve it.
