 Victoria Osteen and Joel Osteen shocked their viewers this week when they announced they were going to resign as pastors of Lakewood Church. Their televised sermons are seen by over 7 million viewers weekly and over 20 million monthly in over 100 countries. The Osteens announced they are investing $10.5 million and their time with a company called Made Pure. Joel and Victoria explained their decision to stop working on the TV series was largely influenced by the backlashed they received about Hurricane Harvey. I think it is a wise decision on their part, some times it's good to stay under the radar & just go about life with out all the negativity that surrounds being so public where everyone has an opinion... esp out on social media.

Lol if this is true then they are just branching out their power play to capitalize their brand and make more money. Neither of them are getting any younger and I'm sure they want more time to play with their vast amounts of money. Obv this will be another 'help people out through Christ' type of thing. People like that make me sick. They should take that 10.5 mil and actually help people other than themselves.

First off, I don't believe this.  This has been going around for quite some time.  Since he got dogged for not opening the church to victims of something or another I don't remember what.

Also believe his thing is more of a cult that anything else.  He doesn't preach the Bible.

I have never really cared for them,  They do make a lot of money off of the men and women who watch him and his wife, But he is preaching for money and always wanting  the donations  and there are many  older men and women who will give and give  even if they don't have it thinking that is the way they will  make  more and  it usually causes a lot of heartache when it doesn't happen or they are going to get well.  I say just go to your local church and read your bible. You don't have to give away everything to them.

Yeah, I've heard he's not the most reputable preacher. I think my sister watched him for a time, but I've never listened to him myself.

I agree with vickysue: attending your local church and reading the Bible is probably the best way to go for people who want to obey God and pursue holiness out of love for God. Giving to your local church is a good idea, because you know that a lot of the money is (hopefully) going to the orphan, the widow, the hungry and thirsty, those in need of clothes, the sick, and those who need to hear the gospel message in prison.

I never heard of these two people, and from the comments above, it appears they are too controversial for me to want to pursue learning about them.
