I don't know why anyone would malign this man. No one is perfect. Why do people suppose that any of our leaders should be perfect. They are human beings and they behave like human beings; some being much better than others.

Occupation and Reconstruction of Japan, 1945–52
After the defeat of Japan in World War II, the United States led the Allies in the occupation and rehabilitation of the Japanese state. Between 1945 and 1952, the U.S. occupying forces, led by General Douglas A. MacArthur, enacted widespread military, political, economic, and social reforms. Cited from: https://history.state.gov/milestones/1945-1952/japan-reconstruction

He sounds like a pretty good guy to me. Definitely not perfect, as no one is, but quite an achiever in my book.
He obviously NEVER heard what Jesus told the apostle Peter.

New International Version
"Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to him, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Math 26:52

I also think you didnt know either.

Here are the last lines of the speech Gen.Mac made on the ship Missouri in 1945 when Japanese surrendered in WWII

Let us pray that peace now be restored to the world, and that god will preserve it always.

The Korean War shortly followed and there have been many conflicts down to our day.

I guess his god didnt answer his plea.

Getting back to Japs surrendering.....kinda corny.2 Atom bombs wipe out 2 cities and many other cities are bombed including Tokyo. And a few signatures end it?LOL!!!!

This show was on TV tonight showing all the battles of the war.I wonder if we had lost the war if the program would have still aired in our country?Reminds me of the YES channel showing past Yankee games. They never show any they lost <and thats coming from a Yankee fan>

As i modify this a few days later i question if i should even put a topic up Re MacArthur. Many probably arent even familiar with him even tho he is a VERY popular person in worst war ever.

I think i react as i watch it and realize just how full of himself he was and then to think he has god on his side after millions are killed cos of who is to gain world domination.

Satan is described as the god of this system right now so in a way he did have a god on his side.Just NOT the TRUE God who must have looked down during the war and regretted he even created us.

Total Casualties
Hiroshima   Nagasaki
Pre-raid population   255,000   195,000
Dead   66,000   39,000
Injured   69,000   25,000
Total Casualties   135,000   64,000

How many deserved to die or be injured?

Then we hear how good the US was after Japan surrendered?

Like pushing someone into an on-coming car......then getting them a wheelchair.

So when they attacked Pearl Harbor, we should have just stayed at home and did nothing? And when the Nazis were killing Jews, we should have just let it go? Pacifism is fine, but if you are attacked without provocation or you see murder happening to innocent people, should you just close your eyes? If someone comes to your home and has a knife or a gun with intent to harm you, do you kneel and pray first or defend yourself?

And BTW, insulting my intelligence on the forum as you did seems a low blow to me.  :( State your case and then let it go. Nobody is going to change other people's minds on this forum. It would be nice to keep it civil. That's more pacifistic isn't it?

Besides, I love this forum. It's one place you can actually hear intelligent discussion. I have seen very little animosity between folks here.  It does rear its ugly head from time to time, but that's just human nature, I suppose.

I dont defend what Hitler did,Pearl Harbor or 9/11.

I tried to make a point too many foolish people think God just cares about the USA.The bible clearly says he ISNT partial.

So i guess you feel Jesus shoulda praised Peter defending him?Well he didnt! He scolded him.

The bible says "vengeance belongs to God"and life is sacred to him.Swallow some of your nationalism thats is clearly a tool of Satans.

Dont say you support the bible and then disagree what is in there.

If you could defend yourself without killing someone is what i support.

I also understand that we are sinners and NOT perfect either.

If ANYTHING,you and others are insulting us.Everything is clearly referenced and backed up.You support manmade doctrine not Gods.

In response to another attack on my intelligence and character, I would respectfully say that if you put words in my mouth, or rephrase what I've posted, or try to infer your meaning into what I'm trying to say, you're trying to make yourself appear more intelligent or more insightful than the person you're attacking.

Then you imply other instances that I did not refer to, or tell me what I believe in in order to once again elevate yourself. I would appreciate intelligent debate and differing points of view, but you need to stick to the points stated and not go off on so many diverse tangents. Your responses don't make much sense to that which you are responding.

So if you feel the need to go on attacking me, it must be because that makes you feel better about yourself when you do so. So I'll try and refrain from asking forbearance and tolerance from you for intelligently regarding other points of view than your own, and attempt to tolerate unjust comments and slurs from you without further comment.

Yes; really.

I guess we should've learned German according to hitch.

I was wondering,do u think General MacArthur after being victorious would like pics of himself being circulated as a baby?

I ask that because after Jesus has been elevated to be "King of Kings"and "Lord of Lords"of his fathers kingdom, how must they feel with pics of him being a baby?

The book of Psalms was written by King David. The promised seed <Jesus>would come thru his line.He found favor with God and when God needed to fight a righteous war in his name thats what that Psalm means.

I assure you all the generals in WWII supported the UN and NOT Jehovahs kingdom.Plus bible says God isnt partial.

Making Jesus words what he told Peter even more powerful!!!

Moses is another good example of how he was instrumental in freeing Gods chosen people at the time <Jews>by burying the enemy >Egyptians>in the Sea.

Again that Psalm means God will fight for HIS people and against HIS enemies.

But Jesus words are MORE up to date.Use the sword......u will die by it.
