I love her soooooooooo much. We had her for a week and she went home yesterday. She is 6 years old and a lot of fun but I am sooooooo glad that she went home, does that make me a bad Nana  :(

Not at all.  That's part of the fun of being a grandma.  You get to have fun.  Create memories.  Spoil.  And send the grandchildren back.  My daughter get's to visit her Oma for a few weeks off and on throughout the summer.  I'm not sure who enjoys the time more.  Her or my Mom.  I know she is loved.  I also know she is exhausting so the short trips are good for everyone.

No you are not!  That's why you have kids when you're young.  I have 2 grandkids and I love them with all my heart but I'm glad when they go home after a long visit.  That's the best part of being a grandparent you get to love them, spoil them, teach them, play with them, and then send them home. ☺☺

This is another one of those trick questions; right?

Sure you're a bad nana, just like all the rest of us. :highfive:

Not at all!  I had my 3 year old grand niece this past Monday and was exhausted after 12 hours.  I could not wait for nephew to pick her up.  Glad it is only one day a week that I watch her not sure I could handle any more. But I still would not give up seeing her every week.

No it does not, grandchildren are a great joy but they can be exhausting when you have not had small children in the house for awhile; you give them your best, then send them home and get some rest until the next visit! :)

I don't think that's a bad thing. Six years olds can be a handful. I love being an aunt because I still get to cuddle and play with them all I want, but if one of my nephews gets too fussy I can just hand them off to their parents without feeling at all remorseful.

LOL No that does not make you a bad nana- it makes you a tired nana, which is understandable  :)

I'm almost 40 and I realize my energy level isn't where it use to be, I won't hesitate to ask my daughters to pick up my grandbabies when I get tired when that time comes.

Speaking of grandbabies, I use to wonder why parents would pressure kids for grandchildren- I think I know now; you get the joys of being a parent but get to send them home.

I feel the same way you do about my grandchildren. My heart is filled with love for the both of them, but I sure am a happy camper when it's time for them to go home! I tell my daughter how tired I am from taking care of them but she just doesn't get it. She expects me to have the energy of someone her age!

My son is the same way. He will say "Ma this grandmother takes their grandkids to the park every day" ...I will say "well I am not that grandmother, then have her take your daughter to the park too"....I hope my son has grandkids and they run him into the ground and see him not complain, I hope I live to see that day LOL.....or if I say when is Giuliana going home? he will say "I cant believe you don't like your own Granddaughter" GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....I tell him he is NOT going to put that guilt trip on me UGH
