I can't say that I have run into a survey that spelled it as "afro-American." That's interesting. On a related note I find it interesting that some surveys give options that are like "black" "white" "Asian" etc. and others are more specific like "African American" "Caucasian" etc.

What I don't understand is, they usually ask are you, hispanic, spanish, mexican , or a decendant of Hispanic ancestry. I'm confuse b/c I was born in the Philippines, the Spanish conquestadors took over the the natives interbreed with the natives & ta da, here I am. My grandmother on my mom's side is Spanish mix & my Grandmother on my dad's side is Chinese mix, so what does that make me? I can never really say I'm Spanish when I do these surveys. What am I? I guess, a Mutt! Anyway, you're the Black African question is a new one.
