I like Tide the best for its cleaning quality of stains but you must also use a pre-treater like Shout. The Purex 3-in-1 makes your clothes smell really good but I still use an additional laundry detergent on top of it.

I have been looking for the best laundry detergent. I want my clothes to smell really good. So does anyone have any suggestions? Should I use the liquid fabric softner as well as the sheets or what is the secret to having your clothes smell sooo good??

Being a Mother of 6, I have always spent more for Tide because it WORKS! I usually get it with the Downy April fresh in it and our clothes are clean & smell GOOD!

but... I just recently tried the new 3-in-1 Purex laundry sheets - they are amazing!!!!!!!  Stick them in with the wash, unload your clothes sheet and all into the dryer - no more measuring, spilling, adding dryer sheets, sooooo simple!  You have to try these out :)

Harness the power of nature!

We use Purex Natural Elements detergent, usually Lilies and Linens scent, and Seventh Generation fabric softener.  We only wash in cold water and I think they both do an excellent job. Plus, both are easily degradable and don't have the impact others do on water supplies, oceans, etc.

The Purex leaves a faint detergent smell afterwards.  It is not at all strong, nor do I think it should be.  In all honesty, I'm guessing the stronger the smell is the more likely it is very artificial or chemically induced.  :dontknow:

We don't use fabric softener sheets.  There's something about an item where even when you take a blow torch to it, you can't really catch it on fire or melt it.  I therefore don't want the residues of said items on my clothes to be rubbing against my skin all day...

I HAVE BEEN USING KIRKLAND BRAND FOR YEARS, THEY EVEN HAVE SCENTED AND NON SCENTED DETERGENT ONES.  ALSO YOU SHOULD CATCH THEM WHEN THEY ARE ON SALE.  YOU CAN GET A BIG CONTAINER FOR $11 WITH 120 WASHES OR MORE.

IMO Gain Apple Mango Tango! I love it but it's a bit expensive  :crybaby2: so I haven't been able to use it lately.

I use Purex mostly, but I just love all the scents of Gain.  Your clothes smell so fresh and feel so soft, although I only buy it when its on sale.  Detergents these days are so damn expensive.

I like Purex too. I think it has gotten better since the old days, I remember a time I wouldn't buy it because it had a horrible smell and didn't get the clothes clean. It really does a great job these days, so I don't know what changed.
