Never heard of it. All this naming days is stupid anyway. I have started really looking at charities lately. Check online and see how rich the CEO of said charity is before you donate to it. I have learned some things lately that have really changed what I give money too. To avoid a fight I am not going to post any thing specific on here. Just research before you donate to any cause.
I almost always check out the stats on certain chariites as there are few sites which will break down how much actually goes to the cause. However, I also give a little money locally and to long-standing charities where I feel the cause is very important, such as the Alzheimer's Association.
That is great. But even that I would check out how rich the people running it are. St Jude is a good one because all of the money goes to pay for expenses of the kids being treated. There was one a few years ago locally, the guy starts a charity, hires people thru a temporary service to call and solicit $10 donations for the Make a Wish Foundation. They even sent people out to collect the $10. Here is how that broke down - the person who made the call was suppose to get I think $2.50, the person who picked up the money got $3, and the owner got $4. So only 50 cents was going to the Make a Wish Foundation. BUT, the kicker was when he got the money for the first week he skipped down. Did not even pay the temp agency. They never found him. I am actually surprised the temp agency did not do more to make sure he was a legit business.
