Yes I do. Especially canned goods.  The expiration date is just a guide it's not set in stone it's not going to be ruined on that exact date.

I ate a can of franks and beans last summer that was 2 or 3 years past expiration.  I had stuck the can into my bottom desk drawer at work and forgot about it. One day while I was working - had forgot to bring my lunch and couldn't get away. As I was digging around to see if I had anything in my desk, I found this can in the back of the drawer.


It didn't kill me or make me sick, but I could taste the metal flavor in the beans!
