I have had to go to great lengths this year to keep the deer from eating all the stuff I planted. I have had to fence in every row of vegetables individually.  Lot of work.

Blame it on Mother Nature! When these animals are hungry, they will eat what they can find.

After fighting deer, rabbits, elk, cows and moles, voles and squirrels, I have found that shaving Irish Spring soap into a spray bottle and spraying my plants works as well as anything.  So frustrating to have your plants eaten and it usually happens when they are partiularly lovely.  You know, in the morning you comment on how beautifully the roses are doing and when you get home from work, there is not a single bloom left! Grrr. Now the squirrels have dug up all my bulbs!

The deer are eating everything and their population continues to explode because they have no predator in our area.

I will never forget one day my wife and I were in the back yard and watched the varmints eat some Dahlias from underground just like in a cartoon movie. They were in full bloom (with huge flowers) and they pulled them down into their tunnel and gobbled them up as they disappeared from view. All we could do was laugh until our sides ached.

The worse I have had it a mama duck who laid her eggs in my hedges and now thinks she & her babies live here - the lawn guy says he thinks they continue to come back to the hedges and my son says they follow him back and forth when he is making trips unloading groceries out of the car.

This sounds like kind of an adorable problem, lol

We have everything fenced, but sweet corn, like the arborvitae, are hard to fence.  We get raccoons sometimes and they can really destroy things.  I caught deer eating out of our bird feeder too.

There is something called deer off . Its supposed to be something that makes them want to stay away not come near places like gardens and such . Hopefully you find a solution soon i know first hand how hard it is to keep critters from eating a garden just not deer
